When I was conducting choirs, I always had to teach the singers to watch my hands. I showed them the basic signals I used for communicating the music and then trained them to watch, watch, watch. The children were so good at that. The adults were another story. Many of them were so busy reading their music that they couldn’t look up. But when they did….they were amazed at what they saw. In fact, they are the ones who told me I had “magic hands”. When I directed the choir for the Center for Spiritual Living, many of the singers did not read music, so they watched me most of the time. It was those choir members that helped others to see the magic in my hands.
When I was conducting, I did have specific messages to convey. It was mostly written in the music. Then we would play with the sounds as they watched my hands. I had one choir member say that it looked like my hands were dancing. The trick was to get their voices to match the messages I was giving them with my hands.
Now, I use my hands for sending Reiki life force energy for the benefit of others. I also find that as I am channeling the Reiki, the sounds come through my voice as well. Even though I am in a trance state, I notice what my hands are doing. They often look like they are clearing away negative energy. They also balance the clearing by bringing in pure Divine energy. I enjoy being a channel because I never know what my hands will be doing just as I don’t know what my voice will be doing.
My videos don’t always show my hands. And most people who are having private sessions with me have their eyes closed. I still feel that there is magic in the movements of my hands. I know that you feel it.
